Every year, Mona Museum’s festival Dark Mofo turns Hobart into a celebration of the winter solstice, of art, music, food, darkness and light. To bring to the eyes of visitors, we found pockets of darkness in the city and lit them up with projections, which were abstractions pulled live from various events. “Portals to Dark Mofo“ created an intrigue and mystery with the audience as they wandered around the city wondering whether they were part of the festival. It spread the festival out in the city in places we don’t normally get the chance to explore.
